Description
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a platform video game developed and published by Sega in 1992 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive console. It is the second game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and follows Sonic and his sidekick Tails as they journey to defeat the evil Dr. Robotnik.
In the game, the player controls Sonic and Tails through various levels, each with different enemies, obstacles, and hazards. Sonic can use his signature spin dash and super speed to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies, while Tails can fly and attack enemies with his tails. The game also introduces the ability to perform a super spin dash and the infamous "death egg" battleship as a boss level.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 features improved graphics and sound over its predecessor and includes a 2-player mode where players can race each other through various levels. The game also features a new special stage where players collect rings to earn Chaos Emeralds, which can be used to unlock the game's true ending.
